Well, you win a derby for the biggest fish. A tournament? well, for rules about a tournament, you better look HERE!

Announcing the first annual Defiance, Q Cove and Big Salt Salmon Smackdown!

The payout is calculated based on a 90% payout formula. If only 50 teams are entered than the sponsors will cover the tournament expenses and will pay out 100% up to the 50 teams to be sure that atleast $50,000 will be paid out in Cash Prizes. If there are only 40 teams entered than the payout would be reduced to $40,000 but will still pay out at 100% and so on.

If 100 teams enter than the payout would be $90,000 for the tournament.

That is some very serious dough!!! See you at the Smackdown!!!

This is going to be an awesome event and the cream will rise to the top. I love the derby series but this type of event is really exciting, real competition against the best salmon anglers around. See how you measure up!

The format of this event and the vast area open to Anglers puts a real premium on strategy. Look at last months Bassmaster Classic: won by an angler that choose to keep gear in the water rather than run far and wide! It could be a very similar circumstance in this tournament!
