67 Pound King from Craig!

Postby Robbo » Fri Jul 18, 2014 5:29 pm

There has been some enormous kings being caught on the outside of Noyes Island here in Craig lately. My long time friend Rod Frederickson gave me the call on the radio around lunch time today to let me know one of his guests just bagged a monster king that turned out to be 67 pounds 2 ounces

We've had some huge kings in the 50 and 60 pound class caught within spitting distance of us the last few days. Just a matter of time before one of our baits gets pounded by a toady ;)

Mostly 30 pound test but I might make some adjustments depending on the situation. On a fish like that you have to push the gear to the max thats for sure!

WOW nice fish. The guys in the slip next to us came in when I was doing some maintenance on the boat and I asked him how they did? Said they only got one King and then pulled a 57 lb 8oz out of the box, and I thought that one was big. It also came from out at Noyes. When we stopped to pick up our deer tags at fish and game yesterday Rhonda said the Trollers weren't happy having to shake a lot of Kings.

...and one of Wayne Sanger's guests got a 60 pounder off St. Joseph Island yesterday. What a week for big fish here in Las Craigas!
