Pipe Jig Spreader

Postby Robbo » Wed May 07, 2014 5:42 am

Dad and I poured a few of these gizmo's yesterday to try out this summer. A good friend that ironically lives in San Antonio gave me the idea and I think they're going to work great. The problem with pipe jigs is that damn near every single ping-pong-paddle halibut that bites them gets hooked. Even though they're easy to release reeling up all those fish is tough on the back and arms. Figured this rig would give us the super fish attracting power of the pipe and I could run a hoochie-mamma circle hook rig off the spreader with some meat on it. These are one pounders and a guy could easily pour two pounders for fishing off the Washington coast.

Those look good, what kind of round bar is that? You should weld a go pro mount on that thing.

It's 9 1/2 inches of 1/2 i.d. copper Duck. That length makes them just about a pound. Getting some new Contours soon...might just have to drop one down for a look spy

Yo Curley Creek slayer...are you putting a hook at the bottom of those pipes?

I'm not putting a hook on the pipe but I suppose you could. Place it in the center if you do
