John Thomas of Rotten Chum Guide Services gave a kokanee seminar at Gregs Custom Rods in Lake Stevens last Saturday and I asked about the land-locked sockeye bite.
Its just getting started so I would call Greg's Custom Rods in Lake Stevens and tell 'em Nelly sent you! thumbup

Lisa Marie -
The other day the surface temperature was in the mid-50s but I suspect that warmer water did not extend very deep. Currently we are looking are looking at typical mid-April fishing. Sporadic bites that last for short periods spaced with several hours of inactivity. Over the next couple weeks (maybe earlier with some more nice weather) look for the frequency and duration of the bite periods to increase.

Most years by late April or early May you can expect some consistent fishing. As soon as the lake stratifies (mid-May??) look for the fishing to be wide open.
