Nasty Hoochie Rig from Today's Show

Postby Robbo » Sat Nov 16, 2013 2:43 pm

As promised here's some photos that Kent Alger from Three Rivers Marine took of the nastiest hoochie rig ever. This set up has been stroking coho and blackmouth for the last couple of years thumbup

Kent likes to replace the beads in this photo with size 14 glo Corkies to add a little more bouyancy. Add your scent to the Glo Bug yarn

Gulp isn't just for ling cod...blackmouth dig it too ;)

This is what it should look like down in the dirt. Notice the addition of glow tape to the Gibbs Red Racer flasher to give it a little more "pop" 8-)

I can assure you I'll be rigging up a few of these for early season trolling in Southeast Alaska. Thanks Kent...and Tom for explaining this on the radio show this morning thumbup

Geeze my daddy taught me years ago make sure to bury the hook so the fish cant see 'em. Now we have glo hooks so the fish CAN see 'em... what is this world coming to? On second thought... those might just work on Sockeye, if we ever get to fish them again.
