Westport Hatchery Chinook Opener

Hey Nelly, just wondering what your thoughts are on fishing opening day in Westport, last year was lights out! Do you think we could see a repeat? Have you heard anything? And are you going? Thank you in advance!

Hey BV!
As you know, June 8th is the Marine Area 2 opener and it's open 7 days/week for two hatchery kings until June 23rd when it shifts to Sundays through Thursdays and a one chinook (Wild retention allowed) limit.

If I wasn't planning to be up in SE AK on Saturday June 8th...Westport would be where I would have gear in the water!

Last year's hot start could very well be repeated this year given the huge Columbia River chinook forecast.

Let's hope Westport starts -and stays- hot this summer!!!
