WACPAC Update

Postby Salmonhawk » Wed Jul 25, 2012 9:44 am

To date we have raised a little over $30k for this election cycle with $22k being committed to candidates so far. Both R's and D's have received contributions and it happens to be pretty evenly split. We have received a great reception and candidates are now seeking out the recreational anglers. Both Scott Sigmun and Carl Burke (lobbyist) have been meeting with candidates for the past 3 weeks and they are finally paying real attention to us. That being said, we have a very long way to go and it is going to take some time.

After Scott and Carle are finished with their meeting we will be working towards putting together a voters guide so that rec anglers can refer to it when casting their votes. Remember, we are only recomending candidates with regards to recreational angling and other issues or party are not considered. What is considered is are they in a position to help us and/or have they been there for us in the past?

Guys, I know that $30k sounds like quite a bit of money and it is BUT it is only a drop in the bucket and we need more. If you guys are interested in supporting the WACPAC then go to http://www.washingtonanglerspac.com Thanks in advance and stay tuned for the voters guide.

Tobeck,

Thanks for fighting the fight. It will be nice to know which candidates support sportsmen. A republican will tend to protect our right to shoot and a democrat will tend to protect the water we fish. Can't always vote a party line when it comes to being a sportsman. Thanks a ton.

It seems that many R's respond well to the economics argument and many D's get wxcited about the coservation stance that rec anglers take. those rules aren't hard and fast but you have to know your audience.
