I went for a long walk around Los Suenos this morning with most of the exercise taking place down in the marina. Fishing has been pretty slow here the last few days with the full moon, but most of the captains in the marina are confident that things will pick back up again in a few days when the moon vanishes. Full moon + clear water = sailfish feeding at night. No moon usually means they have to feed during the day when we happen to be out there. There's plenty of fish around and I'm confident we'll get into the sails and perhaps someone will catch a marlin on the trip this year. They were getting shots on marlin a week ago and those fish are still around. Most of the reports I'm getting are that the action has been happening 25-30 miles out. I'm geekin' out here!
On my "walk" I came across this boat in the marina. 36' Hydra Sport with trip Yamaha 350's. Yowza!
We'll get some reports up as soon as we start fishing. The Outer Escape guys are patrolling the beach today looking for a rooster or a jack or three to strip some line out. More later...
