Darnit I wish we could figure out how to construct some of these to conform to SE Alaska crabbing regs. Oh well...glad to see they are working so well here in Washington. Looking forward to seeing some vids posted here this summer of these traps collecting dungees in the Sound

They could be configured to fish in AK but it would take some creativity.

If you scroll down and click on the "shellfish pdf" you will see the trap regs. The biodegradable escape opening requirements are massive (the biodegradable opening is required to be much larger than the typical dungeness trap entrance). There are other requirements that make it tricky.

Here's a better link to the SE AK pot regs. Getting one of these to work up there would be complicated. I love the stackability of these pots...they'd be perfect for the charter boat

We put two of these to work on Saturday (dec 31). It was the first time with them and we loved them. Now I need to replace my other two pots with these. It was so easy to remove all the crab and along with the stacking they made life so simple. Hard to say if they catch more but they are easy to use so I'm all in.

I bought two. George is great, very knowledgeable and professional. Excellent construction. Will probably pick up two more and give away my old pots.

The more Stearns pots you have, the greater the benefit!
