Ilwaco 8/3

Mason and I went out to do a little pre-fish before the Ilwaco OTC event. We put the lines in about 9am and within a couple of hours we had 10 on the boat and we could have had double that if we would have had another deckhand. Triples are hard to manage with just two people. We trolled around another 1/2 hour when I decided that 10 was all I really felt like cleaning and decided to go in and get some salmon. We hooked up on a coho right away but had to release it due to that pesky fin. 10 minutes later Mason had a 15 lb king on. We netted the king and were off to Ilwaco. Good Day.

That is some rock solid action! I wish I could have made it!
Then today, a couple of the "Costa Rica" people piped up and said that they would have gone.. oh well. Maybe next time..

Great to hear about your trip! as a going to be new father sure am looking forward to one on one trips with my new kid. It great you have the opportunity to do this with your kids.

Sounds like a nice mixed bag, cool not having to make *what to do* decisions ...when you can do both, right on!

nice mix o' fish. maybe it's just the camera angle, but those tuna are looking a bit bigger than ones people were reporting just a few weeks ago.
