Drano Lake Spring Chinook Fishing 2011.

Postby nascarrich60-1 » Fri May 06, 2011 5:44 pm

Spent Monday & Tuesday fishing with Guides Bob Barthlow & Jim Stahl going after Spring Chinook. They set up dyed prawns, cut-plug herring & plugs. Came back with 3 nice Chinook for my efforts. The action lasted from just after sunup to 4 PM and later with the race track area getting the most attention by boaters. More hookups seemed to be with the Joe Average Fishermen then the guides which was a big surprise. Watched more doubles then in previous years!
Thanks to Bob & Jim for putting the boat on the fish and a great 2 days.

NICE Thanks for the report.

I know Drano is a trolling show for springers. Could you share a bit about the rigs [terminal tackle]
What worked the best? Prawns herring or plugs? How much weight? did you use it off a dropper?
What plugs worked best?
You might not want to share that much :D :D :D but if you do I'm listenin :)
I've never fished Drano my huntin buddies from easter Wa. fish it at night for steelies.
