Nootka, B.C.

Postby Nelly » Fri Apr 29, 2011 1:24 pm

I had the opportunity to take a B.C. ferry this week over to Vancouver Island for a look at the new Moutcha Bay Resort and the floating lodge known as the Nootka Sound Resort!
While it is still early for chinook one of the two boats in our party managed a beautiful 14 spring.

I happened to get out in the ocean and find a lingcod

While we're waiting for our two-day shrimp season down in Washington "prawns" are open all year long in Nootka!

We had nearly 600 shrimp in five of our traps using "Bait Booster" soaked pellets

Nootka is the next best thing to Alaska without the flight hassles and expense. I'm going back as soon as the chinook show in May! :D

Can't wait to get up there. I've had Vancouver Island on my bucket list for quite awhile now and after talking to you about your trip it's all the motivation I need.

We should talk Capt. Cook!
There is really something special going on up in Nootka. Not to pull you away from an annual trip in a familiar area but the access, facilities and opportunity at Moutcha Bay has to bee seen to be believed!
