Costa Rica Report

What a great week in Costa Rica with any even greater group of people. Lets start this story with a bunch of photos from this past week at Los Suenos...Here ya go :D

Tom will do anything for a dollar. In this instance he wolfs down a bunch of cheddar cheese "Larvets" at the Dallas airport

We welcomed everyone to Costa Rica by throwing a shindig at "Casa Dome", one of the many luxurious homes at Los Suenos Resort. Here's Tobeck running down the rules out by the pool

Here's Ali with the first dorado of the trip. Not a lot of do-do's around this year, but we managed to catch of a few of the popcorn variety for the bbq and ceviche later. Hopefully someone posts the photos and video of the 55 and 70 pound do-do's caught later in the trip by Team Bite the Big One :!: :!:

The words "Yeah, I'm going to stay behind and help you out for the day Robbie" had just trickled out of my cakehole when I turn around and see the 42' "Tres Amigos" pulling away from the dock with Ray G and the gang aboard. Ray hollers..."better hurry Robbo...we need another guy". The fuses blew in my squirrel brain and before I knew it I was...squirrel-squirrel-squirrel...loping down the dock and leaping for the boat as it pulled out. "So, Robbo...at noon I want to run down and pick up...Robbo...where's Endsley...WTF!""

That's the beauty of this trip Brandon! You don't need to know how to catch billfish, the tournament crews that you fish with have it down cold and will teach you.
As far as accomodations go? First class all the way! Beautiful condominiums with complete kitchens, washers & dryers that you can share with three of your friends to cut the costs.
We're working up packages for March 2012 but plan on mid month and right around $1500 ea for five nights at a five-star luxury resort and three days of fishing plus airfare.
What you get is the fishing vacation of a lifetime and you get to dodge the winds and rain of March in Washington!
If you have any other questions Brandon let me know and I will be happy to help!

More photos from the night of the awards banquet at the Iguana Room over at the Los Suenos Marriot. These folks have the hospitality business nailed and provided us with an outstanding dinner and no-host bar. After rounding up all that schwag it was now time to give it all away :D :D

Lowrance Electronics was the title sponsor of the Billfish Bonanza and donated enough of their great new gear to fully rig any saltwater fishing boat. The grand prize included an HDS 8, Broadband 24 mile radar, and a Structure Scan unit. Mike Campbell from Lowrance was on hand to give away the grand prize and answer any questions the winner might have. The winner is....Kent Molitor from Grass Valley, California :!: :!: :!:

The two day Kenai River fishing trip with John Whitlatch of Reel Adventures was up next. John's released two different world record king salmon on the Kenai River and has the rainbow trout fishery absolutely wired. He speaks of 100 fish days in September :o Tom Kane was lucky enough to have the winning ticket for this trip. We'll get a report from him after he fishes with John this summer :)

We also have to give a HUGE thanks to the folks at Stay in Costa Rica who set this whole event up for us. They've been in business since Los Suenos Resort and Marina opened and are one stop shopping if you plan on booking a vacation at Los Seunos. Lodging, fishing, golf, activities, restaurants, real estate...whatever you want they have it dialed!

We've already reserved the dates of March 15,16, and 17 as the fishing days for the 2012 Outdoor Line Billfish Bonanza and will have the full details of the event on the site within a week. Visit http://www.stayincostarica.com and talk to Joaquin to reserve space early :!:

I would also like to give a big thanks to everyone that joined us on this trip. Without you're help we couldn't have pulled this off. Thank you very much :!:
