Whidbey Island Blacktail

Postby Nelly » Sun Oct 23, 2016 2:18 pm

To be completely honest, my focus for this day's hunt was pheasants as I had neglected my black lab Bailey while persuing an early October elk drawing.

However, my Whidbey Island resident friend Bob Maschmedt had other ideas. After a couple of morning birds he said "Let's go take a look for some deer. I brought a couple of slug guns so we're good to go!"

Before I knew it in the first place we looked, here was a fine 2x3 blacktail that was waaaay more interested in a doe's rear end than anything else...

It's been a great fall and there are lots of ducks, geese and pheasants that are gonna get it...I hope! spy
