A little love from Marine Area 9...

Postby Nelly » Thu Feb 12, 2015 9:10 am

After a loooong boat show, I was itching too get out and once the weather moderated a bit, it was time to let the new Evinrude G2's stretch their "legs" a bit!

It's a great sign after a bunch of boat work (zincs, new kicker, etc) to get bit on the first drag of the day...That didn't happen but it's still a good sign to get a fish in the box on the second drag...

Then to get a flattie on the last troll of the day? Well, I don't know what kind of sign that is...

I also have it of good authority spy that Marine Areas 8-1 & 8-2 are definitely showing signs of life as well! With this mild winter, it's definitely time to get out on Puget Sound cheers

Hey Nelly, how were the water conditions as far as a "fresh water lid" and debris from the recent high water? We're heading out tomorrow...looking like bankers hours start time with the weak AM tides, what do ya think?

Good call dude. The fresh water lid can be seen out beyond Double Bluff but don't let that stop you from trying Possession! spy

Tom,
I am headed out tomorrow to hit area 9 any tips?

My dad went out yesterday and didn't get a bite although he found an otter living in his cabin while trolling at PNP and then snagged his downrigger balls on some commercial pots. Not the best start to a fishing day so I cannot rely on his so-called fishing techniques.

Easy on the old man there J,
There's not a lot of water moving in the morning so consider sleeping in and trolling the ebb at No Point or on the bar...
Perhaps the afternoon on Midchannel bank?
If you catch one you owe us a report!!! cheers

Well my fishing day was cut short since the wifey rolled her ankle. I was able to get out for a few hours but no keepers.

Hopefully I will get out next weekend and put some work in.
