San Juan Blackmouth

I really want to start fishing blackmouth in the San Juans and the straight but I have never done so. Does anyone have any tips for a new fisherman to that area? Thanks!

You might try attending the Puget Sound Anglers meeting in Anacortes.
They meet the 3rd Tue of the month, next meeting is 17 Feb, 6:30 pm at Village Pizza.
It has helped to improve my catch rate in the Islands. That being said, I hope you are aware they are only open Fri-Sun now and will likely see an early closure.

You should also consider grabbing a copy of Saltwater Fishing Journal by John Martinis.
It's filled with charts of great locations, gear choices and run timing.
