What do you mean by Natural Sugar

Duane in a couple of your curing blogs you talk about natural sugar. I have tried to look this up and haven't been able to find a whole lot of definitive information on this. I was hoping you could shed a little more light on this. Thanks a lot.

Hey Rock,
good question...

In the grocery stores, you will find white refined and brown sugar. Your natural sugar is somewhere in between. It is raw sugar in its natural form. It's not refined, so it may be labeled Raw or Natural. C&H makes it, it's a brown/white larger granule then refined sugar. I believe it is much sweeter than refined sugar, that's why I use it.

Hope this helps.

Evaporated cane juice is my favorite. It's sugar cane juice they dehydrate then crush to graduals.
They sell it at Whole Foods and PCC.

For some reason I was thinking brown sugar was natural. Would brown sugar be better than your standard white refined? Seems C&H brown sugar says natural on it if I'm not mistaken.
