Stam and I headed to the coast for another one of our short-notice steelheading ventures. Rivers are in, traffic is down, and fishing is good..lets roll This time our guide buddy Bill Meyer from Anglers Guide Service had some openings and we were happy to ho the seats in his Hyde for two days. He and Kratzer have the Oly Pen wired
I made the mistake of telling Stam that I just missed a fish behind rock "X" riiiiiiight over there and two seconds later...hammer time! Stam mopped up my leftovers in the back of the boat. And there's was plenty of leftovers on this day. Stam repeated this pose a lot on Wednesday...I mean a LOT Most of the fish were translucent finned dimers One of the most perfect wild steelhead I've seen in a long, long time. Dime bright blinger with a snow white belly and cut steel shoulders. What a fish The new waterproof KAST steelhead gloves worked like a charm. Good "gription" with these gloves too Another nice fish from day two, but this one got the wood shampoo /conditioner treatment Guide Bill Meyer from Anglers Guide Service and auto glass guy Tim Argo who joined us on day two. Fresh steelhead! I wonder if I can peel away for another day...hmmmmm
