My wife and I booked a room yesterday at Port Gardner Inn. We will be in Everett early on Friday to meet and greet some of the boats coming in. Don't know if we will get any fishing in or not. Dock time is still good time and a chance to meet all you wonderful folks. Just a reminder, Salmon for Soldiers has all of Guest Dock A reserved. That is 1000' of moorage. It is $1.00 a foot and comes with power. That is the best rate they would give.
For those of you staying at the Port Gardner Inn, let them know you are with Salmon for Soldiers and they will give you a corporate rate. I am trying for lower but have not gotten there yet. They only have 33 rooms and are expected to be at capacity on August 9th.
We attended the Wounded Veterans Fishing Program event yesterday at Riffe Lake. Danny Gabriel did a wonderful job putting that on. He will be joining us in Everett for our event. Danny has the Group Fishing Permit. Each warrior will receive a free punch card for the day! Thanks Danny!
Also spoke with Jeff Alexander from the Warrior Transition Unit. He will also be joining us along with 19 other warriors from JBLM! We are filling up.
If you are already signed up, thanks a million! If not, give a shout and we will get you registered!

The outpouring of support from our outdoor communities has been phenomenal! We have 57 boats that are committed to this event with 2 more that have been invited to attend. There are 127 (a few of the 127 are caregivers) that will be attending! We are at capacity but will establish a stand-by list should an opening become available. thumbup

I saw on Facebook that Robbo had a S4S decal on his boat. Where do I get a couple of those?? One for car and 1 for boat.

OK folks, hold on to your downriggers.......The Salmon for Soldiers event will be rolling out in its' first year with 66 boats and 145 warriors and caregivers! :D Nearly 30 of our Country's finest will be rolling in from Spokane and the Tri-Cities areas. We have soldiers coming from California, Idaho, Arizona and Florida! For all of you boat Captains and Deckhands.....you are the best! Without you, this event could not take place. And for our warrior guests, thanks for allowing us to be a part of your lives for this day! Without you, our freedom does not happen! We all owe you a debt we will never be able to repay......salute!
Many of the boats will be making their way to the North Yacht Basin and Guest Dock A where we have 1000 feet of reserved moorage for the night of August 9th. And yes, we have it filled. There will be impromptu fishing classes, visiting, meeting new friends, seeing old friends, and more than a few fishing stories.

A special shout out to our sponsors and associates who have been so generous:
Take A Warrior Fishing, Cabelas, Walmart, Puget Sound Anglers, Lamiglas, Bayside Marine, Project Healing Waters, Daiwa, Johns Sporting Goods, Sportco/Outdoor Emporium, Prince of Wales Sportfishing, Truck Vault, Griffin-Maclean Insurance, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Rapala, Famous Daves, Warrior Transition Battalion – JBLM, 173rd Airborne Association, Daiwa Kvinsland Dentistry, Harbor Marine, Wounded Veterans Fishing Program, Washington State Veteran Centers, Bargreen-Ellingson, Operation Ward 57, Freedom Adaptive Systems, MarDon Resort, Silver Hoarde, Starbucks, Salmon&Steelhead Journal, Tempress, Northwest Jig Company Patriot Guard Riders, Eagle Scout Candidate Shane Messegee, Offshore Northwest, HSIO Technologies, Snohomish County Republicans, Mill Creek Signs Now, Puget Sound Security, Craig Howland and Scott Gate and WA Patriot clap

I will be in touch with each and every one of you a week or two out for any last minute items. Respool the reels and sharpen the hooks cause' here we go! clap
If we all concentrate on the important things in life, there will be a severe shortage of fishing poles! All our best and see you on the water!

Hey guy's, the Salmon for Soldiers event was fantastic. We took out 2 soldiers, Carlos and Joshua. Carlos caught 2 pinks and Joshua caught his first salmon ever. Thank you for your part in the event and to Randy for all his hard work. Here is a pic of Carlos and Joshua with their fish. Ok I can't figure out how to post pics.
