Nicole and I made a quick jaunt over to Kitsap Lake this morning with baby Ava Endsley so she could experience her first trout. My dad met us at the ramp to make a couple laps around the lake with us. Can't blame him for wanting to be there for her first ride around the lake.
We would normally go to Bay Lake on the Key Peninsula, but my buddy Ben Rogers at Defiance Marine has been roping some nice trout on Kitsap Lake just about every night after work. It's a year round lake and there would be hardly any pressure this weekend.
Sure enough...there were maybe 3 or 4 boats on the lake.
We ended up hitting two nice trout, 15 and 18 inches, in about an hour and a half of trolling with small Hot Shots.
Good ol' froggy pattern gets it done again
Three generations of Endsleys
Lovin's the boat ride with dad
The big one gobbled up the froggy Hot Shot
Mission accomplished We didn't get there until around 11:00 a.m. today and we hit two nice trout in a short amount of time. There were quite a few trout cruising around on the surface and I'm sure if we would have gotten there earlier we would have hit more fish. A quick trip to the lake was just right for Ava's first trout trip though and she did great. Such a happy kiddo
