Low and Clear but Still Biting

Northwest Daiwa rep Kiley Brehm jumped in the boat with me between shows to do some steelheading. Even though the water was low and clear we managed to scratch up a few willing blingers and as always it was great to spend some time with Kiley. He's a cool cat

I side drifted with the stick lead all day and I'm 50/50 on it for side drifting. I think in rivers like the Sol Duc/Hoh/Skagit that have large cobble bottoms they can be very effective. In lower gradient rivers with a lot of wood, however, you're going to break off anyway. Just my .02 after one full day of use

I agree with the stick weight, wood eats everything but awesome for rocky rivers. Still easy to fish regardless.

Hopefully Kiley kept it out of the trees for you or else it all goes bye-bye anyway!

Water temps are making the fish really hot right now. This buck erupted from the surface the second I hooked him and then he towed us all over the place. Fun fish!
