As our big Spring Salmon season winds down, we actually shift gears to target the exciting ,fighting Coho Salmon that are now coming into Sooke waters. There are currently some large Spring Salmon for those willing to put some serious time in, to be caught.Some great Coho are about to open to one wild ,one hatchery fish per person on Oct.1st, and winter Spring Salmon are already a little deeper at the Trailer Park,Otter Point, and Secretary Is. There are 2 great Coho Derbies planned for October; the 1-2nd The Port Renfrew Marina will host thier winner take all Coho Derby. Oct.8th Sooke will host The Sooke Thanksgiving Coho Derby,tickets will be $30 per rod, available at EAGLE-EYE OUTFITTTERS and the CRAB SHACK. Some great deals can be had for accomodations at this time of year in our area,Sooke Harbour Resort and Marina is offering 2 nights,2 half day fishing trips,for 4 guests for $1000.00 until Oct.15th.
