Las Craigas, AK Report

Postby Canyon Man » Sat Jun 04, 2011 9:01 pm

Spent a few days up North with Gringo Grande, aka Robbo, aka The Prince, aka Dr. Love, up in Craig, AK and let me tell you it was nothing short of spectacular. 65-70 degrees, sunshine, and light winds combined with WFO King fishing and limits of Halibut, Lingcod, and Yelloweyes have made for a very tired Canyon Man and a very full freezer.

Here are a few pics and I will try to add some more soon:

And the culmination a 35+ Kinger!

An amazing place that everyone should experience at least once in their lives....Robbo, you the man!

Hope to get some news from Yamaha tomorrow. Using a borrowed lower unit from Slim in the meantime. I will check out that site if and when I ever get internet CC. Thanks for the tip man!

Thanks for the report Canyon Man, it's nice to finally see some pics from up north. Tell Bucket to smile next time and who took the pic of the 35lber? Anyway, looks like great trip and not a cloud to be seen, wow.

Posting from the pizza joint in town. No internet until next week now

Pretty snotty out on the ocean today. Still managed to catch a nice bunch of king salmon and limits of chicken buts on the salmon rods today. Here's David Garst from Virginia with one of the kings he landed yesterday. One more day of wind and then it backs off for Dave Vedder and gang.

No one posted the pic of poor Chief Smiles From Within and his silver salmon. Here he is with the silver he caught on June 1st. Our first of the summer and hopefully the first of many.
