Ticket sales are off to a great start. We are selling tickets at a much faster pace than last year. Don’t be left on the dock. Only 100 tickets will be sold so get yours now.

This year’s event is hosted out of Cap Santé Marina in Anacortes and is already developing into an awesome event. Tickets are available by: purchasing them online at http://www.resurrectionderby.com, downloading the entry form from the website and mailing the entry form and check, or you can purchase them in person at Holiday Sports in Burlington.

The Thursday evening Captain’s meeting, and the Saturday evening awards ceremony will be hosted at the Elks in Anacortes. Friday evening anglers will be free to enjoy the many fine establishments found in Anacortes. Boat berths will be provided at Cap Santé but registrants will need to pay for launch/recovery fees. There is a boat sling at Cap Santé, and there are public launches at Washington Park and Twin Bridges. The website has links to make lodging arrangements, and there are many fine dining facilities to be enjoyed in the area.

Anglers will be competing for the guaranteed first place prize of $10,000. Second Place is $2500 and Third Place is $1500. Last year’s Resurrection Derby sold out and had 100 boats and 313 anglers competing for this purse. Come join us for a dynamite weekend of fishing, fun, and festivities that surround one of the best derby locations in the state.

The 2015 Resurrection Salmon Derby was held in Anacortes, WA on December 4th & 5th, and what a wild one it was. Despite the wind and rain, these die hard fishermen set out to prove who the best fisherman is. Several fishermen commented on the rough weather throughout. One fishermen noted that they encountered 6-8 foot s on their transit down from Bellingham on Thursday. Friday was the best day as far as the weather was concerned, however, both first and third place entries were caught on Saturday during a Coast Guard issued storm warning.
First place was awarded to Ryan Kies of Mount Vernon, WA who caught a Chinook weighing 19.60 lbs. Second place was secured by Rydel Brooks from Stanwood, WA with an entry of 16.38 lbs. Third place went to David Huynh of Burlington, WA at 15.62 lbs. The Secret Weight category was awarded to Steve Stout, aka Original, whose 8.28 lb. fish was closest to the predetermined weight of 8.30 pounds. During the derby, 48 fish were caught with a total weight of 462 pounds. There were 222 fishermen/women in 73 boats.
