The Seattle Boat Show is THE place to make your fishing plans for 2014
Learn How To, When To and Where To go fishing, crabbing and shrimping from some of the best in the Northwest.

SEATTLE – Every year the Seattle Boat Show, Indoors + Afloat, offers more than 200 free seminars during the 10 days of show, including 60 free fishing and crabbing seminars, featuring the best of the best speakers in their areas of expertise. There is no better way for an angler to improve his or her success on the water than investing in an hour or two to learn from the best. And it’s all free. So whether it’s learning to mooch, learning about tuna fishing off Washington’s coast, shrimp fishing in Puget Sound or ocean salmon techniques, the Seattle Boat Show is the place to be, January 24 – February 2, 2014.

New to the fishing seminar team lineup this year is Tommy Donlin, considered one of the up and coming stars of the coastal albacore tuna fishery. Donlin will provide information of how to intercept albacore tuna as they migrate along the Washington coast from late July through September. Albacore tuna fishing has become one of the fastest and popular growing fisheries in the Pacific Northwest.

ESPN 710 Seattle’s Outdoor Line show host TJ Nelson will provide detailed information for winter blackmouth anglers targeting these tough fighting and wonderful tasting chinook salmon. The San Juan Islands are recognized as the premier blackmouth fishing area for Puget Sound anglers beginning in early December and lasting through April.

At last count, a quarter of a million Washingtonians use their boats to fish for Dungeness crab in Puget Sound. Not to be missed is Clyde McBrayer’s presentations on Dungeness crab fishing in Washington. It continues to be one of the most popular seminars at the Seattle Boat Show.

The boat will be unveiled at the show, followed by 15 tournaments – beginning immediately after the show with the Roche Harbor Salmon Classic, February 7-8, 2014 and finishing with the Resurrection Salmon Derby in Friday Harbor , December 5-6, 2014. http://northwestsalmonderbyseries.com/

Here is a view from my office of the boat show getting set up. Just saw Nelly's boat out there a few minutes ago but looks like the brought that one in the WAMU center already.

Not sure if I will make it this weekend I want to try and catch some fish. I picked up a 5 day pass and plan on coming through after work for a couple days next week. I'll be excited to see the new boat up close this time and not from my works balcony.
