Cruising thru some old Alaska photos and came across this dandy. Thankfully the guy wasn't on my boat

Is that me???? Oh yeah I don't have the grey hair yet. That seems likemore fun than the SE AK forecast lately. East, SE, W winds any where from 20 to 55u knots. 20 to 31 ft seas. Addington anyone? Glad we end our season when we do.

7 stitches later. Small price to pay for just landing a $1000 king. :D

It didn't hurt much when I did it but when I got to the clinic in town and the doc started poking needles in it to numb it  , that was a different story.

Looks like the hook ripped out of yer finger Scott. Kroiky! I didn't take any photos of the Kwikfish hook embedded all the way down my index finger or the 6/0 treble buried in my leg in Panama. Both of them on big plugs and of course...the live fish were still attached to the other treble hook in both cases. Ug!

Wasn't a hook which would of hurt alot more. We had just put a 40lbs. king in the box (guess where ;) ) which I knew had a good shot at winning a large pool my guys were entered in and I would get a good cut of when I grabbed my bait knife to cut off the old leader and put a new 1 on, something I've done without incident for 20+ years but my luck ran out. I guess the combination of excitement and adrenelin caused me to not only cut the knot but also bury the bait knife to the bone. It really didn't hurt but I did it at 9am and it took till 1:30 to limit the boat and it never stopped bleeding, I can't tell you how many times I re-wrapped it and how many gloves I filled with blood, it was a bunch.
The day I did it there were 2 other WF employees in the waiting room with me with various injuries, we had 6 injuries in a 3 day period including a maintainance guy that was medivac'd to Harborview.
