Wasn't a hook which would of hurt alot more. We had just put a 40lbs. king in the box (guess where
) which I knew had a good shot at winning a large pool my guys were entered in and I would get a good cut of when I grabbed my bait knife to cut off the old leader and put a new 1 on, something I've done without incident for 20+ years but my luck ran out. I guess the combination of excitement and adrenelin caused me to not only cut the knot but also bury the bait knife to the bone. It really didn't hurt but I did it at 9am and it took till 1:30 to limit the boat and it never stopped bleeding, I can't tell you how many times I re-wrapped it and how many gloves I filled with blood, it was a bunch.
The day I did it there were 2 other WF employees in the waiting room with me with various injuries, we had 6 injuries in a 3 day period including a maintainance guy that was medivac'd to Harborview.
