Frozen herring

Postby Danno » Mon Apr 07, 2014 12:32 pm

I searched the forums, but didn't find a direct answer to this question: How long would you expect frozen herring to last in the freezer? I'm considering buying a case of frozen herring ahead of Summer, to save a little $$, but wonder if I should wait until it's closer to the time I will be using it. I'm mainly wondering if I can expect the herring to last through July if I don't thaw it until ready to use.
I apologize if this has been discussed before.
Thanks.

They will last they are vacuum packed. I wouldn't buy to save money I would buy when I could get a case of good looking herring....Ask Robo he buys it by the ton. I like Puget Sound Herring.

I get my best herring from Sabiki......

There are some good bait companies out there for sure. We buy all of our bait from Pam at Jerry's Bait in Port Townsend. I've been with them for a long time and they've never let me down. Great bait and great people. Their number is 360-437-2118. Good luck fishin!
