Lake Washington Cutthroat

I was interested in fishing Lake Washington this weekend for Cutthroat and wanted to know if the fishing is any good right now, if so how deep and what are the biting on.
any info would be great thank you.

Hey Kyle,
Welcome aboard and thanks for your question!
I would hit the south end of the lake. Think Renton and the area around the mouth of the Cedar River.
The VMAC (Virginia Mason Athletic Center) aka the Seattle Seahawks Training Facility has also been kicking out a few cutties.
The food of choice is either threadfin smelt or stickleback so think small and get your gear 70+ feet behind the boat but only 30 feet deep.

We have been fishing Lk. Washington for the past month and it has really been hit and miss. SW side of Mercer has been good for us, chrome with red head needlefish 24" behind a sling blade or my favorite is a cut plug herring (orange label) by itself at least 60' behind the boat, and 15-30' down. I would strongly recommend you go to Lk. Sammamish. It has been red hot the last couple of weeks. Fish the SW side of the lake from the weather bouy south or the very north side. Look for birds working the surface, there has been a crazy hatch going on out there and those fish are feisty. Same gear as Lk. WA with the addition of a wedding ring with about a half of night crawler. 17' down and 1.5-2.0 mph has been the ticket. Best of luck. Hope this helps.

Thank you for all the help my friend and I made it out to Lake Washington today.
We started fishing across from the V-mac on the east side of Mercer Island, it started slow no luck using the sling blade dodger and a cookies & cream needle fish, I then switched to a 50/50 Nickel Brass dodger then ran 24" of leader to a orange & yellow wiggle hoochie, within 5 minutes had a nice 17" Cutthroat on. My Buddy kept his sling blade dodger on and followed it with a green wiggle hoochie. He then landed a 18" Cutthroat and a Kokanee just under 15" all in half hour. We finished with 4 fish total all caught between 30' and 40' deep. You guys were not kidding only saw about 4 boats, definitely worth the drive from Bellingham.
