Float & Jig 101 anyone?

Postby Nelly » Fri Dec 21, 2012 2:58 pm

Hope everyone is done shopping and ready for Christmas... so you can get out steelheading!!! rofl

We're debuting a new segment tomorrow on The Outdoor Line:

The Three Rivers Marine Tech Line Presented by Diawa!

The topic: Float & Jig for steelhead... but, any decent class requires visual aids right?
Here are the items we'll be discussing and they're all available at Three Rivers Marine in Woodinville.

Aero Floats and the Beau Mac drift floats are killer. Rig 'em with the Beau Mac in Line Sinkers.Use one size smaller of the inline sinker than the float is rated for. For example,if the float is rated for ½ oz use the 3/8th oz in line sinker. With the addition of an 1/8th oz jig and maybe a split shot size 7 on the leader, this combo will fish great.
Also, Pro Cure Water Soluble Scent is the only one you think about using on a jig.

Hevi Beads. The alternative to jigs. If you don’t want to toss the same stuff everyone else is throwing, put on the Hevi Bead!
