Hoochie Spinners

Postby Robbo » Tue Oct 01, 2013 1:04 pm

I just rigged up some hoochie-mamma spinners using the new Bullet spinners from Silver Fox.
I used some of these last year and really dug'em. Super heavy, easy to cast, and it doesn't take much to get them spinning.

Check out the bell on these bad boys. You can cast'em a long ways even in the wind thumbup

Now...if the rivers will just come down I can get out and rope some coho with'em!!!!!!!

Those babies look super fishy Robbo. So you want to retrieve spinners pretty slow, correct?? Not a big spinner guy, but I really want to try it this year. I need a little bit of a bigger challenge than the sound  Holly cow it's been lights out thumbup

Think "low and slow" King Me. You want the blade spinning as slowly as possible and get'em down deep where the fish are holding, although they will come up to whack'em at times also. I let the spinner sink until it's down in the hammer zone and then give it a pop to get the blade started. With the Bullet spinners it doesn't take much to get them spinning though. Vibraxes need a little pop to get'em started.

I've never done all that well with the hoochie spinners on the north sound rivers. On the coast, however, the hoochie spinners are dy-no-mite!!!

Used to rough'em up good with spinners on the lower Skagit ;)
