Thanks for the great link Blake. I read a lengthy book about salmon farming in British Columbia a few years back and it really opened my eyes to the possible effects of the farms. The collapse of the pink salmon runs in the Broughton Archepeligo and the collapse of most of the steelhead runs on the east side of Vancouver Island and the lower BC mainland sure seem like more than just coincidence.

There's a group in Raymond, Washington working to farm coho salmon in a land-based facility where the waste can go thru a treatment system. Hopefully they are successful and we can start raising salmon in this manner so that our wild fish aren't impacted. I have the gentleman's number and should give him a call to see how they are doing
