So if you're planning on fishing for and retaining chinooks then you'll need to be fishing west of the red can off of Ediz Hook, as Nelly said. It is closed in MA6 east of the can so you cannot even retain hatchery chinook near your halibut holes in summer. You'll find boats working from the tip of Ediz Hook down to the Nippon Mill (smoke stacks) concentrating in 100-150ft of water. Most fish the lower third of the water column off "the hook". Most avoid bait and stick with artificials due to bark-sharks, just like in MA9/10. There are other places further west. Do some research on freshwater bay, the humps, and the winter hole as well.
Out of John Wayne, another option is the MA7 side of Hein bank... I've also fished the San Juans out of JWM as well.
