Spoon question for Nelly

Postby LisaMarie » Sat Nov 26, 2011 5:59 pm

Saw you on Hawg Quest fishing MA7. You where using Spoons and Qcove Flashers. You mentioned that you where putting a bend in the spoons. Could you talk about where you are bending the spoon and what action you are looking for? Also, was that the Nuclear Crush QCove?

Roger that on the QCove breakaway Nuclear Crush!
I've never seen a flasher make the color chartruse "pop" like that.

The old school Coyote Spoons used to come with a more pronounced "S" bend and they fished pretty well.
Take a look at the front or line attachment end of a new Silver Horde Kingfisher Lite 3.5 or 4 spoon. it curves up or toward the color side.
I gently bend the narrow front up and increase the rear bend down.

I think an increased action is beneficial and gives you an edge over the guys that fish their gear "stock" or as it comes out of the box.
