Watch out for faulty Herring hook ups

Postby Todd Busby Cut Plug » Tue Sep 13, 2011 6:07 am

I won't say the name, but there is a tackle shop in Smokey Point that is selling defective slip tie hook sets. They tie the 20# 3/0 hook sets at the store. They are defective and unravel after less than 30 minutes of use. When I went to return the remaining unopened sets, they informed me I must be using them wrong. The $500 a year I spent there is going elsewhere now. Talking about lousy customer service! I fish hundreds of hours per year and have never had a herring hook-up unravel in my 15 years of being a Cut Plug guy. It took the "owner's approval" and a 5 minute wait to authorize the return of the $.79 packages.

Now, that's some lousy customer experience. My dollars are going elsewhere.

You got that right. I ordered tons of hooks last night. We are having a tying party this weekend. Gonna hammer the coho at PA next week!
