Smoked Turkey

Postby Eddy C » Sat Nov 10, 2012 7:41 am

I smoked up a whole punch card of silvers. I'm thinking I would like to smoke a turkey, I really like smoked turkey. I've never smoked one.

What is a good brine? Thanks

the brine we have used is one cup of salt to one gallon of water. you will have to use more water but you can add a little salt, my grandpa taught me a little trick to tell if you have enought salt is to put a egg in the water if there is enought salt it will float. we put our brine and bird in a cooler. after it brines over night make sure to wash the bird entirely.
as far as smoking the bird we get the smoker to 235 degrees and smoke it at 30 min per pound with apple wood rockon
