Rocket Launcher Hardtop

I extended my hardtop by building a frame out of PVC and attaching 1/8" plywood. Total cost for staying dry under $20

Cool project AC!
I have to admit, it took me a minute to grasp your concept.
When I read the title of the post, my mind's eye had you adding a rocket launcher to your hardtop!
Instead, you have used your existing rocket launchers to extend a roof over a portion of your rear deck.
I understand the use of PVC rather than aluminum due to weight but I'm wondering how well the extended roof will stay in the rocket launchers during a rough ride.
Let us know once you get a few "field tests" under your belt!
Pretty inventive idea and I hope it works for you! thumbup

This was my second design. The first design I applied the glue too early in the process. For best results build the section which goes in the rocket launchers first. when you have all the pieces cut and assembled lay it out flat on the dock (upside down and glue together. Attached the 1/8" wood and paint with deck paint.

I am into season two with this verson. Its simple, and keeps me dry when checking my pole or pulling the pots.

Do you miss having the rocket launcher rod holders for storage?
I use mine all the time and would have to figure out what the heck to do with my rods!

I miss putting my gaft and wash brush up top. Since I have a covered slip at the marina the rocket lanchers had a tendancy to make one piece graphite rods into 2 pieces.
