AirMar TM260 1KW

I successfully avoided having to cut a hole in the bottom of the Polar Bear to install the thru hull AirMar 1KW transducer by ordering this transom mount 1KW transducer. It weighs at least 5 pounds and comes with a very solid mounting bracket. Should be able to microwave those salmon with this baby!

Why the transom mount? Just wondering what your reasons are? They could benefit other when deciding Transom vs Thru Hull.

Easier to install and I figured I could take it with me if I ever sold the boat. I could also use it to start the bbq on the dock

Here's a photo of the new Airmar 1KW on the stern of the boat. John Keizer encouraged me to leave the old 50/200 mounted up and away from trouble just in case the brick takes a hit, which is why the old transducer is still there. This puppy transmits a very clear image to the HDS10 on the dash
