Ho, Ho, Ho!

first real trip out targeting coho this year was a success. ended up going solo cause the wife wanted to sleep in. she didn't share my sentiment that getting up at 0515 was sleeping in. anyway, fished 8-2/9; first coho on within 10 minutes. nice little 6#'er jumped and flopped his way to the boat. over the next hour and a half, had three takedowns that didn't stick and 4 shakers, but nothing else until #2 decided to whack the super secret green glow spatterback hootchie (don't tell anyone!). this guy stayed deep, made a couple runs straight down and did his best chinook impersonation until he got into the net. probably went about 9#. heading home by 0845. looking forward to the derby this weekend. will be my first time fishing this one. unfortunately, will probably doing it solo as my wife messed up and got the wrong days off.

Nice pair of Coho 'dub!
Good luck to you during the derby and here's hoping you have to figure out how to fit a second boat in the driveway!

Check your PM's if you need a netman. Nice fishies.
