A good day out with a friend who wanted to see what it was like to fish for salmon in a small boat out on Puget Sound. My 16 FT Smoker-craft fits that description so out we went from Don Armini Dock this morning in somewhat rough conditions. The Doctor brought his own reel, I provided the pole, flashers & lures. He then proceeded to bring to the net a 8 LB Coho & 11 LB Chinook. I managed 2 Coho each at about 22 inches. Lure of choice were Coyote Spoons, 6 FT leaders, 11" flashers trolling between 65 & 95 FT with and against the tide. The day included losing a 15 LB DR Weight & line clip in a minor learning mishap but such is fishing. He experienced the good & the bad!
