My son Madden got a new Shimano Cumera bass rod combined with a new Stradic reel for Christmas and has been patiently waiting for some spring weather to get the opportunity to put his first fish on his new rod. I've been telling him that with the cold spring that we have had the lake just hasn't warmed up enough to bring the bass up close enough for him to reach from shore. He has finally had enough of the waiting game and has been out all weekend casting away, just hoping he could land his first bass of the spring. Finally tonight, he was rewarded with a fish! It wasn't a bass but a nice Lake Washington Cuttie caught on a Rapala Rattler in a perch pattern. Good to see his effort rewarded, way to go Madden!!
