MAYDAY..Ling Cod Opener!

Postby Nelly » Fri May 01, 2015 9:38 am

Gotta love the mellow, mellow month of May!

Today was the ling cod opener and Possession was flat, calm and productive!
Sand dabs drifted along the bottom were drawing strikes and bending rods!

Kathy Nelson knows what's for dinner! It's fish & chip time!!!

We managed to scratch one 35" keeper on the opener, and let one go that was 24", and had 4 on that shook the hooks. Went back out Sunday, and did not even get a nibble.

This 120ft max depth has killed a couple of secret spots I used to know. I wish WDFW would allow us to fish that depth again, and require anglers to have some type of deep water release device on board. There are a lot of spots at 125ft depth that are killer.
