I-5 Springers

Postby MR.G » Sun Apr 06, 2014 1:15 pm

It's hard to pull myself away from the epic coho fishing we experience here (Seattle) in the fall to fish the Columbia but almost every year we rally down to try for a Springer. The last two years were not so good for me but we managed to scratch out a couple of nice fish this time. Chris, Rich (my pops) and I fished last Wednesday- Friday and went 2 for 3. It's always a very cool to be on the big river and every time I leave I can't help but be envious of the locals that get to beat it up all the time. I fished on the pick a little but our fish came on trolled herring behind a fish flash with a 12" dropper. We fished around the 205 and below the Willamette but our action happened around the I-5 area. Our observed catch rate was similar to Bat 2 Plates report... not smoking hot but decent. That said, here are a few pics- Garret
