Early Spring Smallmouth - Lake Washington

Postby KayakFishingWA » Wed Mar 05, 2014 11:05 am

My buddy and I hit Lake Washington yesterday to see if we could get any cutthroat trout. We trolled a variety of different spoons and even small Rapalas. There were no trout to be had but just outside of the Arboretum in the UW Cut Channel we were marking bait and quite a few fish. We ended up picking up some chunky smallmouth bass mid water column in 18 to 25ft of water. They seemed to like a bass pattern Rapala over other colors. We ended up with 6 smallies and got out of there when the wind and rain started blowing again.
