Figured we'd get 2013 started off right with a dose of Heavy Metal

Here's Phil Stephen's from Mystical Legends Guide Service with a toad of a hatchery steelhead he plucked from a SW Washington river on a recent "day off"

Methinks this is gonna be a year for big steelhead so I'm stickin this one at the top of the board. If ya get a fish that's toadworthy feel free to post it up. Some of us don't fish for steelhead 7 days a week anymore and we need to live vicariously thru others

Heavy Metal 2013 continues with the monster steelhead that one of Mike Ainsworths customers caught fishing eggs on the Humptulips River last week. This absolute beast measured 40 inches long and boasted a whopping 23 inch girth. The trophy steelhead formula (lenght X girth squared/775) puts this fish at just over 27 pounds. And check out how perfect this fish is...WOW!

Austin McCleery from Bonney Lake, WA caught and released this trophy wild steelhead on one of the Washington coastal rivers this weekend. No measurements on this beauty. They snapped a couple quick pics and sent this beautiful buck on it's way. Awesome fish Austin

Look JP up on Facebook for a great steelhead trip. He works extremely hard to get his guests into fish. We'll be seeing more from these fellars over the course of the winter methinks

Bill Durell caught this pig fishing with Mike Zavadlov of Mike Z's Guide Service (360-640-8109) on one of the Forks area rivers recently. Mikey Z is regarded as one of the best on the Oly Pen!
