I had another day out on one of my favorite coastal rivers . I got off work at 7:00am and was on the water by 9:30am. A bit of a late start, but the conditions are so good, you can't help but anticipate that you will be into fish. The river was crowded with at least 25 Drift Boats and 8 or so sleds. No matter, I had a good crew and we were successful in scratching out a few. I always refer to it as "Batting Clean-Up" when you follow all the other boats down the river and are able to find a few. Great job today Nick Berto and Ron Hobbs Jr. These guys fish hard all day and we had an absolute blast. Float Dogging with the stick lead of course was the fool proof technique. Pautzke BorX O Fire eggs and or Tiger Prawns cured in Nectar were the baits of choice...
It seems most boats are averaging 2 to 4 fish per day. I also heard of a report of possibly a 25 to 27 lb. Native caught today. Can't wait to see the pics...
