Nice Tyee Nelly!!
You got that 30lb skunk of your back for the year!
Took the advice you gave me Saturday am, and fished Westport Sat/Sun. while we didn't break 30lbs. we did take 2 chinook over 20lbs, with mixed bag limits for 3guys both days, with 30 nice Dungy's, and a couple keeper lings off the submerged jetty, to make for a succesful trip.
Weird year out there this year, as fish and fishermen are scattered from 25ft of water off the beach, out to 300+ ft. of water. ( I got a chinook, and a hatchery Coho in less than 100 ft. of water on Saturday) Sunday was a big Chinook in 30ft of water, then out to 40 fathoms for one of those "stupid" Coho bites, where it didn't matter what you fished, or how deep. ( I took my hatchery Coho 30 seconds after the boat stoppped, on a herring rig that wasn't even attached to the downrigger ball yet!!) Saw the attack/strike through the polarized shades, and set the hook, thought I was sight fishing for steelhead in February!! I still think the bruisers are just sliding down to this area now, based on the smallish fish from Puget Sound this year so far, and the increase in Tyee+ fish starting to be caught by our "friends" to the NOrth....
