First report for May

This is the first report of what should be a great fishing year. We just went through the some big tides this week and fishing while scratchy for a few days is back on track. We get some great fishing in May and no doubts that this year will be one of those years. Springs right now are 8- 18lbs. are all red springs and are all hatchery clipped. Best spots have been 20 minutes from Ucluelet harbour and Long Beach. Ling Cod fishing has been very good and on the banks a few Halibut are starting to show up. The inside spots kick out a few nicer Halibut everyday.

Best baits have been spoons and small hootchies fished just off the bottom.

As this big tide starts to move away from the morning hours we can expect the fishing to really light up. By the end of the week we are starting the best tides of the month.

There are few spots still available if you need a need a fishing getaway.
