Coho Days!

Postby Nick Berto » Mon Sep 30, 2013 6:54 am

In before the rain! Got a few days in last week before the monsoooooon hit...

Hit the local river on Thursday with my good buddy Michael Bennett from Pacific Fly Fishers and managed 4-7 for coho out of the drift boat with 2 rods out. 2 of which were bigguns!

Then hit the saltwater on Friday with Mike Ainsworth of First Light Guide Service. It was ROUGH but we caught a few before pulling his boat out for the season.

Can't wait for the rivers to drop back into shape, should just get even better!!!

You know bass fisherman can't go fishing without 20 rods!!! You know golf'ers dont go to the course with just one club!

All kidding aside, these Coho are unpredictable sometimes and you never know what they are going to want on any given day and we like to be prepared for whatever mood they may be in. Float rods for bait or jigs, Dick Nite rods, hardware rods (spinners, casting plugs, twitchin' jigs), and plug rods plus we had a couple fly rods for fun that day as well.

Bring it on Coho! 50cal

Nice work Nickster. That first fish has elephantitus of the schnauz...nice kype

I agree about the rods. Ya gotta have bobber rods, spinnin' rods, plugging rods, and twitchin' rods nowadays. It's not like back in the old days when a Fenwick or Kunnan was all you needed for everything....and it worked just fine thumbup

Fishing continues to be hot on the Snohomish system. From in town snohomish all the way to Sultan there seems to be fish anywhere and willing to bite anything you feel like catching them on. From free drifting/side drifting eggs, dick nites, trolling or casting plugs, spinners, etc. they are biting it all!
