Like everyone else I have Winter Black mouth fishing on my brain as well as having the itch for the early winter steelhead action but don't count out the great Coho fishing we are still having on the Snohomish River System. The Coho just keep coming! We fished again yesterday and hooked nine Coho and six tackle burning Chum. It was another good day on the Skykomish River. It's been a crazy year chasing the bite with these Snohomish Coho. In late September we started out trolling plugs then went to casting plugs and Dick Nite Spoons. Once the first rain hit it went to an egg bite. We started out with side drifting eggs, then to floats. We even got two weeks into free drifting! I then did one of my favorite techniques of hover fishing. That really did them in with limits of fish daily. We are now back to plugs but after this week its going to be drifting eggs catching the Coho and hopefully we can put our first Winter Steelhead in the boat!
