Salt Patrol's Labor Day Westport Weekend!

Team Salt Patrol fished Westport this holiday weekend for salmon and tuna.
The salmon were in close with most of the action coming just over the Grays Harbor bar right off #3 buoy. There was a good mix of kings and coho and limiting out was very easy. Pulling bait, either herring or anchovies behind a Fish Flash was our ticket for kings.

The coho came on Silver Horde spoons & Gold Star squid combinations.

We had the best action by running the downriggers just off bottom for kings and coho. By using the Lowrance Structure Scan it was fairly easy to stay with the bait and keep on the fish schools.

We ran out for tuna on Saturday and tuna fishing is still very good. It’s a short run SW of the Westport about 35 miles. Had no trouble getting all the tuna we wanted. Most of our fish came on a couple of live bait stops and we also picked up a few trolling.

Watch for the new video coming soon on this exciting fishery.
